There are three airports in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located on the west side of the San Francisco Bay (CSUEB is located on the east). It takes about 35-50 minutes when there is no traffic to get to CSUEB. A taxi from SFO to Hayward costs about $80-$105. For ground transportation options see:

  • Oakland International Airport (OAK), located on the east side of the San Francisco Bay, is about 20-30 minutes from CSUEB. Taxis will cost about $45-$75 from OAK to Hayward. Additional ground transportation options may be found at:

  • San Jose International Airport (Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport –SJC) is located Southeast of CSUEB. It takes about 40-50 minutes to get to CSUEB when there is no traffic. Transportation from the Airport
  • You can take the metro system called ‘BART’ from either SFO or OAK to Hayward (see To reach Cal State East Bay from the Hayward BART Station, take Alameda County (AC) Transit Bus #60.

  • You may request an airport pickup (for drop-off at the CSUEB Hayward campus or nearby hotels) by completing the online Airport Pickup Form at: The cost is about $140 for this service.

  • Additionally, a number of private companies provide door-to-door service from the airports to CSUEB. Some shuttle services offer pre-arranged private shuttles and others are shared-ride vans available on a walk-up basis. It is recommended to arrange for the service in advance, especially if you are arriving late at night. CSUEB is not affiliated with nor do we endorse the companies below. It is your responsibility to contact and pay the companies directly:
